Tips To Maximize Prime Day Savings

Even if a product is already discounted, there are still usually a few ways to take more money off the purchase price. Here are a couple of our preferred strategies for boosting deal values while shopping on Prime Day:

Sell Amazon Your Old Games and Hardware

Amazon buys used video games, gear and even consoles, so if you clean house before Prime Day you can be ready with some extra Amazon gift card money.

To sell stuff to Amazon, find the trade-in storefront on Amazon’s website and select the product you’d like to offer. Once you’ve accepted the proposed trade-in value you’ll receive an e-mail with a label that lets you ship your trade-in back to Amazon free of charge. You’ll also get an instant Amazon Gift Card credit to use on Prime Day (or sooner).

While you probably won’t get much for older franchise games like Madden or Assassin’s Creed, Amazon does offer pretty good buyback prices for recent releases.

High-Value Trade-ins Include:

  • Rage 2 (PS4) — Trade in for $34.90
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (PS4) — Trade in for $22.90
  • Jump Force: Standard Edition (PS4) — Trade in for $26.71
  • A Plague Tale: Innocence (Xbox One) — Trade in for $20.84
  • Mortal Kombat 11 (Xbox One) — Trade in for $25.50

Set Deal Alerts for the Games You Want Most

With so many great deals coming and going, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of everything Prime Day has to offer. To ensure you don’t miss out on the discounts you’re most excited about, set up some Deal Alerts for the products you want most and we’ll notify you the second they go on sale.

Even if the game you’re interested in doesn’t get marked down for Prime Day, the Deal Alert will stay active so you can keep your eyes peeled until the price you’ve been waiting for appears.

The top Amazon deal from our website’s front page is also worth your consideration:
