Spider-Man: Far From Home may have just premiered in theaters (and dominated the holiday weekend box office), but that doesn’t mean the Spider-Man PS4 game has just dropped off the face of the world. In fact, not only does Spider-Man: Far From Home have a Spider-Man PS4 Easter egg, but Jeopardy also referenced the popular open-world adventure game in a recent episode.
In the episode, host Alex Trebek is asking one of the contestants to identify the graphic logo of the PlayStation and name drops the Spider-Man PS4 game in the question. Any PS4 exclusive, like God of War or Days Gone, would have likely worked to differentiate the logo from other gaming consoles, but it appears that the Jeopardy host thought Spider-Man would work better.
This doesn’t come as a surprise thanks to the resurgence of Marvel popularity with the MCU, the fact that it is the fastest selling Marvel and Superhero-based video game, one of the best selling games of 2018, and one of the best games period of last year. Appearing on Jeopardy is just the latest in a long line of accolades for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man PS4 title, with Insomniac community director James Stevenson being one who caught the aforementioned shout-out (as seen below).
While appearing on Jeopardy may seem like a trivial thing, there has only ever been a handful of games referenced on the show. About two years ago, Jeopardy featured a question about The Last of Us, which showcased how the contestants weren’t really gamers, as they couldn’t connect the popular title to the phrase, “Ellie kicks some zombie butt in this Naughty Dog game.” So, it’s worth mentioning that the aforementioned Spider-Man related question about the PlayStation logo was answered correctly.

The Last of Us question isn’t the only video game-related question to ever be missed, though, as there was one episode where Jeopardy contestants utterly failed to answer video game questions. Most of the games in question were mainstream and with popularity on par with Spider-Man as well, consisting of titles like Destiny 2, The Elder Scrolls, Joust, Fortnite, and Disney Infinity (with the latter being the only one answered correctly).
Spider-Man is out now exclusively for the PS4.
