Huawei MatePad Pro Geekbench Listing Surfaces with Key Specs, Bluetooth Approval Hints 5G Edition

Huawei MatePad Pro flagship tablet is launching on November 25. Codenamed as “Marx”, it will be the first tablet ever to go official with a punch-hole display.

The Geekbench listing of the tablet has surfaced today to confirm that it will be fueled by Kirin 990 chipset. Multiple variants of the device have also received approval from the Bluetooth SIG. The BTSIG listing suggests that there could be a 5G variant.

On the Geekbench benchmarking platform, the MRX-AL09 MatePad Pro has scored 3808 points in the single-core test and 11832 points in the multi-core test. The device is running on Android 10 OS and it has 6 GB of RAM. The slate is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin chipset that has a base frequency of 1.86 GHz. Since it is believed to be a flagship tablet, it is very likely that it could be equipped with Kirin 990 chipset that has the same base frequency. To understand better, the Mate 30 Pro 4G edition has Kirin 990 chipset that two cores of Cortex A76 working at 2.86 GHz, two cores of Cortex A76 clocking at 2.09 GHz and four cores of Cortex A55 working at 1.86 GHz.

MatePad Pro Bluetooth SIG certification

The MRX-AL09, MRX-W09, MRX-L00 and MRX-AN09 models were certified by BTSIG in August. The certifications revealed that they are all equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 support. Recent 5G smartphones from Huawei have ‘N’ mentioned in the model numbers such as EVR-AN00, TAH-AN00, OXF-AN00, WLZ-AN00. Hence, there is a possibility that the MRX-AN09 could be a 5G variant of the tablet.

Readers are expected to wait for further reports to confirm the existence of MatePad Pro 5G. If it is true, it could be featuring the Kirin 990 5G chipset which has a higher clock speed of 1.95 GHz.
